#3 Jaden Wilkes

This is a project of hope.

That’s what I told myself when I decided to send my images and stories to the moon.

It’s a hope that we’ll be around long enough to discover this time capsule on the moon’s surface and we’ll be interested enough to read about the art and inspirations of people long ago.

That’s my hope, that creation will be valued over destruction in the future. That my grandchildren and their children will exist to enjoy their lives, that they have managed to drag humanity off this capitalist cycle of destruction and production, and how everything we have to give becomes a commodity.

That’s my hope for the people who find our time capsule. That they’ll wonder how we were able to bring these beautiful and wonderful stories and art out of such a strange world, dancing along the precipice of climate disaster and potential crisis. I hope they look back and pity us because they’ve moved on to such a point that lives like ours deserve only pity.

My name is Jaden Wilkes, and I don’t know who will read my books or look at my pictures in the future, but I hope they will enjoy them and know that I was once a living, breathing human being on our strange planet Earth. I had my own hopes and dreams, I looked up at the same moon as they do, and I loved and lived and had a wonderful life.

Out of everything I’ve ever done, I want to be remembered for how hard I loved my children and how I sent them into the world hoping for the best. How I came from a long line of dreamers and empaths who did finally made it to the moon.

In my files, I included photos of my family: myself, my husband, my three sons and my mother. I also included:

JPEG digital images of book covers for: Freakshow, Therapist, Dirty Little Freaks, Obscura, Empire Island and Wild Woods.

JPEG digital image of The Beast book series.

JPEG digital image of the author Jaden Wilkes.

Epub digital copy of most recent publication, The Dark. Sole purpose, to make The Dark side of the moon jokes until the day I die.

If you’ve managed to make it this far, please come check me out (I love hearing from readers):  www.jadenwilkes.com
