I write contemporary romance and up until I wrote The Billionaire’s Love Story, I had never really written to market.

The Gift Books 1-3 are the first part of my nine-book serial experiment in writing something that was popular—the billionaire trope—but also writing serials (as opposed to one big story).

And instead of making it be just a billionaire romance story with two protagonists, I wanted my story to also be about family and values. So I made my heroine be a single mother with an adorable six year old son who questions everything, and I gave my hero a tortured past. 

I wanted something along the lines of Jerry Maguire and a rags to riches Cinderella story with a dash of steamy romance. 

And this is how The Billionaire’s Love Story was created.
