Hi, I’m Samantha A. Cole, author of over thirty romance/suspense novels (as of February 2020). I’ve also written several children’s books under the name Gabrielle Grice. I was honored to be chosen to have my books included in the Writers on the Moon time capsule. Before I became an author, I was a police officer, and before that, I was a paramedic. But things don’t always work out as planned. After being injured in the line of duty and unable to return to the career I loved, I discovered my love of writing. Since then, I’ve embarked on my third exciting career, this time as a published indie author. 

The book I have listed on the time capsule manifest, Scattered Moments in Time, is a collection of short stories I’d written over several years for contests and charity anthologies. In 2020, Scattered Moments in Time won a gold medal in the Readers’ Favorite Awards for Fiction Collections/Anthologies. Another book in my file, The Road to Solace, won a silver medal in the 2017 Readers’ Favorite Awards for Contemporary Romance. 

Other books I’ve included are a variety of romance/suspense novels I’ve written, such as the books in my popular Trident Security series. I fell in love with romance novels when my grandmother gifted me some from her Harlequin Romance collection when I was a teen. My favorite sub-genre has always been suspense—maybe that influenced my chosen careers which then came in handy when writing stories about alpha heroes and kick-ass women in law enforcement and the military. 

In addition to my adult books, I added two of my children’s picture books in my file. Hoppy’s Big City Adventure was a bedtime story my father created when my brother and I were very young. He’d repeated it so many times over the years that neither of us ever forgot it. My father passed away in 2005, long before I became an author, so he was never able to see his story in print. That was the first children’s book I published, and several more have followed. 

Again, I’m honored my books have gone to the Moon along with some amazing authors from a variety of genres. I’m hoping by the time the capsule is opened by someone in future that I’ve been able to publish all the other stories that are flying around in my mind for future generations to enjoy.
