Hello! My name is Linh Nguyen-Ng, and I’m an author and illustrator for children’s books. I’m thrilled to be part of this innovative Writers on the Moon project, where I get to send some of my work to the Moon! I also write sci-fi and fantasy romance under the pen name, Calla Zae.

 

I chose three of my children’s books to be included because I wanted to remind and show my children and their children that the universe is full of magic, wonder, and possibilities. One of these cutting-edge possibilities is having a collection of stories from writers, artists, and creators from around the world in one shared space: the Moon.

 

I’m hoping that one day someone will construct a Moon Café with awesome architecture and food for visitors to gather and read from a device that will showcase this collective work. Where everyone is welcome, no matter their race, skin color, gender, or DNA. Aliens and all fantastical beings are welcome too.

  1. Attending Virtual School: A Book About Learning Online — This story was inspired by the pandemic of 2020, where most children had to attend school from home. I had to help my son and daughter adjust to this change. (In 2020, Renee is 9yo and Ethan is 7yo.)

Below are my sci-fi romance collection. I started writing them in 2020 because I was home with my children. It was an opportunity for me to do what I’ve always wanted: write otherworldly stories. So it makes sense to include them on this Moon mission.

  1. The Alien’s Allegiance (Norakian Warrior Series, #1) — When a poisonous wound lures a star-being to Earth for a rare cure, he encounters an alluring female who offers her help, hoping for a galactic adventure to escape her life’s problems. She soon discovers that her biggest issue is the warrior who has captured her heart and makes her want the impossible.

  1. An Alien Rescue (Soldiers of Saedo Series, #1) — When Emma and her six siblings are abducted on New Year’s Eve, a stunning star-being rescues them from horrific beasts. His protection and honesty stirs her heart in a way that echoes the love she has always wanted. Is he Emma’s New Year’s gift? Or is he another male who’s going to bruise her heart?

 

  1. An Alien Crush (Soldiers of Saedo Series, #2) — When a heroic star-being saves Sasha from horrific beasts, she develops a crush on him, sparking hope in her heart. But then he disappears. Taking matters into her own hands, Sasha tracks him down. Can Maeson offer Sasha what she needs? Or will he crush her heart?
