#116 Elise Noble

Out of forty-plus books, why did I decide to send The Black Trilogy to the moon? Because of all the stories I’ve written, it’s the most special to me.

I started writing Diamond’s story one lunchtime at work. I’ve always been a voracious reader, but I was struggling to find that story, the one I really wanted to read. The one with the heroine who was tough but fragile at the same time, a woman who took on a man’s world and won, who was loyal to her friends and gave no quarter when it came to her enemies. But I couldn’t find that book, so I decided to write it myself.

Honestly, the first draft was a mess. I had no idea what I was doing. But I’m a tenacious little wotsit (so says my mother), so I kept going, and Diamond was the result. A wisecracking assassin who does things her own way, driven by her past but determined to shape her future.

I hope you enjoy reading her story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
