Lady Rample Steps Out
(Lady Rample Mysteries – Book One)
Shéa MacLeod
If you want to know the truth, I dreamed Lady Rample. Literally. I knew I had to write her stories. This was the first book in my Lady Rample Mysteries, set in the 1930s in London, England. I wanted to create an escape for readers. Some place they could go where they knew that the villain would always pay, the heroine would always come out on top. And there would always be tea and cake in the drawing room. (Cover design by Amanda Kelsey)
Kissed by Darkness
(Sunwalker Saga – Book One)
Shéa MacLeod
This was the first book I ever wrote and the one that started my author career. In this book, I worked out a lot of angst and anger over pain from my past. In the pages of this book, I was able to get justice and create a sense of purpose. In the end, good triumphed over evil and the characters looked forward to the future with renewed determination and hope. And the author made her dreams come true. (Cover design by Amanda Kelsey)
The Art of Kissing Frogs
(Notting Hill Diaries – Book One)
Shéa R. MacLeod
The Art of Kissing Frogs is a delightful romantic comedy that I noodled over for a long time. It’s close to my heart because it’s based on my own experiences living and dating in London. In the book, the main character goes on a string of terrible dates. Every single one of those dates really happened to me. Unfortunately, I never met a famous actor. But once again, the theme is about hope. About love. About friendship. About finding oneself. And about dreams coming true. (Cover design by Tugboat Designs)
The Corpse in the Cabana
(Viola Roberts Cozy Mysteries – Book One)
Shéa MacLeod
This was the first book in the Viola Roberts Cozy Mysteries and the first cozy mystery I ever wrote. Even
before Lady Rample. While this series has never been as popular, it holds a special place in my heart because it was a first and because I love the main character, Viola, so much. There’s a lot of me in her. Plus, I always wanted to write cozies, so this was me, grabbing the bull by the horns, and making my dreams come true yet again even though I was terrified I would fail. Spoiler: I didn’t fail. There were bumps, but I kept going. (Cover design by Mariah Sinclair)
Potions, Poisons, and Peril
(Deepwood Witches Mysteries – Book One)
Shéa MacLeod
This is another special book because it’s proof that you can reinvent yourself any time you want. That you aren’t stuck with something that doesn’t work. You can always do something different and find success.
I originally published this entire series as a paranormal romance, but it didn’t sell well, and it never felt right. So I reimagined and rewrote it as a paranormal cozy mystery, and it worked! With themes of love, friendship, sisterhood, and good triumphing over evil, readers loved it. They connected with it in a way they never had in its original form. (Cover design by Mariah Sinclair)
Sometimes remaking a thing makes it better than you could have ever imagined.
A Christmas Caper
(Sugar Martin Vintage Cozy Mysteries – Book Three)
Shéa MacLeod
And finally comes one of my favorite books I’ve ever written, A Christmas Caper. I took a tiny bit of inspiration from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but it’s all my own. I love it because it’s gentle and sweet and just a touch magical. It’s also fun and filled with Christmas spirit. The real Christmas spirit which comes from the real magic of neighbors looking out for each other, people caring about each other, the beauty of the natural world, and the desire to help others and make the world a better place. There are always dreams to follow. And hope. There is always hope.
