PAYLOAD FILES

Song of the Sending, The Expatriates, Book One by Corinne O’Flynn. Novel.

This is the first book I ever wrote. I chose this as my lead project because the story features a falcon named Oona, who sets the story in motion.

This fantasy novel takes place on a parallel-Earth, and I changed Oona’s breed to a fictional Loragrine falcon, but she was modeled after the amazing, stealthy, and fast-as-a-rocket, Peregrine falcon.

Given that we’re sailing off to the moon on the Peregrine Lunar Lander, it seemed fitting to name my own falcon as my payload leader. Cover art by Steven Novak.

The Gift of Your Calling by C. O’Flynn. Speech – I wrote and delivered this speech at a banquet for receiving Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers’ Independent Writer of the Year award. It is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Patricia Mary Carr (October 12, 1947 – December 4, 1998), from whom I got this crazy itch to be a writer.

Rowan Tree Foundation Memorial Garden, Parker, Colorado

Photo Album compiled by C. O’Flynn.

I am extremely proud of the work I’ve done with Rowan Tree Foundation. This album features images of the Rowan Tree Foundation memorial garden in Parker, Colorado, as well as photo memorials from our board members and special friends without whom RTF wouldn’t exist.

Our motto at Rowan Tree Foundation is “because it’s okay to talk about child loss.” I believe in the power of sharing deep pain and loss and the powerful transformation that occurs through that kind of healing. So many people struggle to talk openly about loss, and child loss in particular, but I’ve seen firsthand how incredible and affirming and hopeful it can be to share and connect with others after such an enormous, heartbreaking loss as losing a child.

Each year RTF hosts memorial events honoring

hundreds of children from around planet Earth

whose memory is included in this lunar expedition

even though their names are not listed individually.

Also included in the photo album are images of the Rowan Tree Foundation Child Loss Awareness license plate being signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper–a super proud moment signifying the completion of years of hard work–and several photos of my family who are more precious to me than anything else on Earth or the moon!
